The Draft..coming soon?

This YouTube video suggests it has always been in the backs of the little minds running BushCo. SuzieQ blogged about this yesterday. Video courtesy of American’s Against Escalation in Iraq.

Washington—Friday Lt. Gen. Lute, the President’s new war adviser – commonly referred to as the war czar, announced that he is considering reinstating a military draft in an interview with NPR.

Lute’s draft talk came on the heels of General Petraeus’ recent statements that we should stay in Iraq for another 9 or 10 years.

With opposition to the war in Iraq soaring across the nation, Americans Against Escalation in Iraq’s new TV ad ‘Draft’ reveals how the Bush Administration is completely out of touch with the American people.

  1. I think a draft is a great idea, if done right. The children of elected officials holding federal office are the first to be drafted as front line infantry. Then the children of partisan federal appointees are the next group. next are the children of the very richest families, and when working down in income until the children of the poorest families are drafted last. No exceptions. Such a system would bring an end to war.

  2. Goodness I friggin LOVE your idea TomCat!It would end the war quicker, no doubt about it 🙂
