I have loved and admired this man since the first time I heard him speak. From C&L:
This looks like it’ll be a good one.
Street Fighting Man: The Political Mind of Alan Grayson is a documentary feature about the re-election campaign of Congressman Alan Grayson (D – FL), who famously said the Republican’s health care plan was simply, “don’t get sick, and if you do, die quickly.” In the traditional sense, the film is a non-partisan look at Grayson’s bid to become the first Democrat to ever win a second term in Florida’s conservative 8th District. In the not-so-traditional sense, it is a satiric look at the political state of our Union.
Republicans are calling Grayson “Enemy Number 1” in the mid-term election. Defeating Grayson is viewed not only as a win for their party, but a symbolic blow to the Democratic Party. This fight for the 8th, with all its competitiveness, juvenilia, and in-fighting, is a microcosm of politics in America in 2010.
I can’t wait to see this…seriously. The Trailer below:

I got chills when I listened to his speech on the floor. From the Orlando Sentinel:
U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson of Orlando, the Democrat that Republicans love to hate, took aim last night at the GOP’s opposition to legislation that would extend unemployment benefits.
In a speech before a largely empty House chamber, Grayson slammed Republicans for “taking food out of the mouths of children.”
Noting that his grandfather scoured the garbage dump for things he could sell to support his family in the 1930s, Grayson said, “That is the America the Republicans are trying to revive — the America of desperate straits and cheap labor.”
“I know what [Republicans] are thinking: ‘Why don’t they just sell some stock? If they’re in really dire straits, maybe they could take some of their art collection and send it off to the auctioneer. And if they’re in deep, deep trouble, maybe the unemployed can sell one of their yachts.’ That’s what the Republicans are thinking,” Grayson said.
That prompted Dan Gainor, vice president of the conservative Media Research Center, to tweet, “I’ll give $100 to first Rep. who punches smary [sic] idiot Alan Grayson in nose. He’s a caricature of a congressman.”
Which, in turn, prompted Grayson’s office to accuse the Republican establishment of encouraging violence against him. The liberal Media Matters for America spread Gainor’s tweet around. Gainor later tweeted that he was joking.
Those fucks on the other side of the aisle can kiss my brown ass…both cheeks. They are so friggin in the pockets of the uber-rich and the corporations, it makes me physically ill to think of the idiots that continue to vote them into office. They are the party that vows to provide cheap labor to the corporations and it makes me so angry I want to punch someone..or something.
Listen to it all folks…its short and to the fucking point. I love this man.
Appearing just now on the Ed Schultz show on MSNBC, Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) said that former Vice President Dick Cheney’s attacks against President Obama are just a ploy to increase Cheney’s book sales — and rhetorically asked whether the Devil himself had a hand in the book.
“You know, honestly I think he’s just trying to prime his book tour, his upcoming book tour,” said Grayson. “He got $2 million to write about his memories, and he’s trying to stay in the public eye in order to push sales for his book. That’s what I think.”
“I’m wondering, though, who’s doing the introduction to his book? Is it Mephistopheles? I don’t know — maybe it’s Satan.”
Grayson also responded to the frequent Republican attacks against him: “I am attacked by them all the time. But as Franklin Roosevelt said, I welcome their hatred.”
Cheney has been a frequent target of the fiery liberal Grayson’s jibes. Grayson has told Cheney to “STFU,” and has also imagined Cheney as a vampire with blood dripping from his teeth, who turns into a bat and flies away after he finishes speaking his attacks against Obama.
WooT! Speak da truth Brotha Grayson!
On the floor of Congress late last night..Rep Grayson bitchslaps the Rethugs. Bravo dude!
Crooks and Liars has a great video up of the wingtard Michelle Malkin on Fox Noise. It addresses the the bonus structure of companies that get taxpayer funds. The rightwingers are foaming at the mouth since the bill has now passed the house. From C&L:
The bill adopted by the House on Wednesday would bar companies that received a capital infusion from the federal government from paying any bonus or other compensation that is “unreasonable or excessive” as defined by the Treasury, until they had repaid their bailout money to the government.
The companies would also be barred from paying any bonus that was not “directly based on performance-based measures.”
A spokesman for the Senate majority leader, Harry Reid, Democrat of Nevada, said his party would study the House legislation along with other proposals and would decide how to proceed “over the next few weeks.”
I love that Malkkkin is losing her mind over this. Warms the cockles of my little black heart!
